Location
Address: Punta Caracol, Isla Colón, Bocas del Toro, Panamá
Area: Isla Colón — acceso solo en bote
Bocas del Toro is a Caribbean archipelago of 50+ islands in northwest Panama, one flight hour from Panama City. 95% of the local economy is tourism — and for good reason: turquoise water, 10,000-year-old coral reefs, 250 fish species, sea turtles, dolphins and the famous red poison dart frogs (Dendrobates pumilio) of Isla Bastimentos. Punta Caracol sits on the northwest tip of Isla Colón, 20 minutes by boat from Bocas Town. Boat-access only — no traffic noise, no walk-in visitors, nothing but the Caribbean Sea below you.

Who is this hotel for?
Guests must be 12 or older. No pool or Kids Club. For families with young children, Playa Tortuga Hotel on Isla Colón or Bocas Town resorts with more amenities are a better fit.
Panama's most romantic lodge. Only 3 palafitos — maximum privacy. Wake up over the Caribbean, breakfast on your deck with dolphins, dine under the stars on the water. Designed specifically for couples and honeymooners.
No business facilities and limited WiFi — not suitable for work. This lodge is for total disconnection, not corporate retreats.
A transformative solo experience: your own kayak, snorkeling from your deck, the silence of the Caribbean. The limited WiFi forces digital disconnection. For solo travelers seeking introspection or marine adventure.
Maximum capacity 6 guests (3 palafitos × 2 people). Option to rent the entire lodge for couples or very small groups. Not suitable for large groups.
Seasonal Prices

💡 Booking tip
Book 4–6 weeks in advance: there are only 3 palafitos. For honeymoon or anniversary, contact the hotel directly (puntacaracol@puntacaracol.com) for special decoration and a private deck dinner. Bocas del Toro has two dry seasons (Dec–Apr and Aug–Sept) — if you can't make December, August–September is almost as good with slightly lower prices. The flight from Albrook to Bocas Town is only 1 hour and costs $80–140 (AirPanama or FlyTrip).

What guests say
“I woke up at 6 AM and there were three dolphins swimming right below my deck. Literally. This isn't marketing — it's what happens when you sleep above the Caribbean. I'll never forget that moment.”
— Carolina M. · Booking.com · March 2025
“We came for our honeymoon and the lodge decorated our palafito with flowers and rose petals. The private dinner on our deck over the water, with the Caribbean sunset behind us — absolutely perfect.”
— Matías & Paula · TripAdvisor · February 2025
“The hardest place I've ever had to leave. You kayak out from your own palafito, come back, jump into the water from the deck. Colorful fish below, Caribbean sky above. Why does anything else exist?”
— Thomas B. · Google · January 2025
